31-Day Global Prayer Initiative

As we think and pray about world events in our day we would like to invite you to participate in a 31-Day Global Prayer Initiative for what is happening in our world today! Please feel free to duplicate and circulate these prayer requests broadly.

Here is a message from Vonette Bright, co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, concerning this strategic prayer initiative for our world, “As we remember the impact of 31 days set aside to pray for the former Soviet Union in January 1987 this causes me to wonder what will happen if we spent 31 days until the end of 2006 in prayer for the global terrorist issues of our day.

"Some may remember how we encouraged people to pray beyond that month in 1987, but the miracle happened the very first working day after January 31, 1987. Gorbachev took the first steps towards Glasnost on that day. He released the first religious prisoners at that time and then began to take steps that eventually led to the dissolving of the Soviet Union.

"These requests have come from the Middle East and as we pray unitedly, specifically and strategically perhaps God will perform a similar miracle in bringing about change in the present terrorist crisis!”

This 31 Day Global Prayer Initiative was first submitted at the Esther’s Prayer Conference in South Korea in August 2006. Thank you for your participation in this critical prayer initiative!
